How we remove scratches
Most light scratches only sit in the clear coat, the clear top layer of your paint. We polish that layer smooth so the scratch disappears or fades.
- Check the scratchWe look at how deep it is. If your fingernail catches in it, it may be too deep to polish out, and we’ll tell you before we start.
- Clean the areaWe wash the panel so no dirt gets ground into the paint while polishing.
- Machine polishWe use a polishing compound and pad on a machine polisher to level the clear coat around the scratch. This is a 1-step paint correction.
- Final wipeWe wipe the panel clean and check it in the light so you can see the result.

Can every scratch be removed?
Not every one. Polishing works on scratches in the clear coat. If a scratch goes through to the color coat, the primer or the bare metal, polishing can make it less visible but can’t remove it. Those need paint work at a body shop.
We don’t do wet sanding or paint touch-ups, only machine polishing. A quick test: run your fingernail across the scratch. If it doesn’t catch, there’s a good chance we can polish it out. Not sure? Text us a photo before you book.

Is machine polishing safe for my paint?
Yes. Polishing takes off a very thin layer of clear coat to level out the scratch. We check the scratch first and only polish what’s safe to polish.
When do I pay?
